Kenneth Tsang Kong, a Hong Kong actor whose career has spanned 50 years and included a variety of acting roles, noticed that his hearing sensitivity of both ears had been deteriorating gradually in early years. Hearing deterioration not only affected his acting career, but also slowly affected his quality of life. It was a coincidence that he knew about Otic, and decided to be fit with a pair of hearing aids for both ears in our centre. With the use of hearing aids, Mr. Tsang could live a normal life like other normal hearing people do. However, sometimes it is not possible to wear a behind-the-ear hearing aid during filming. In order to hear clearly the instructions from the director and other staff, Mr. Tsang always wants a smaller in-the-ear hearing aid.

Brand New Hearing Technology – Closing a Gap to Normal Hearing

This year Oticon launched the brand new Opn custom hearing aids, which are equipped with OpenSound Navigator™. The OpenSound Navigator™ technology in Oticon Opn constantly deliver 360° sound, rapidly and precisely attenuating disturbing noise, even between individual words. This groundbreaking technology helps users hear better with less effort and to remember more of what is being said.

Mr. Tsang was very satisfied with his new smaller custom-made in-the-ear hearing aid. He reported it was easier for him to put in and take out the new hearing aid compared to his old traditional behind-the-ear hearing aid. He also reported that he could wear the new hearing aid most of the time while working.

Make Everyday Life Easier

What impressed Mr. Tsang most was the Opn bluetooth wireless technology. With the use of 2.4 GHz Technology, hearing aids could be turned into a stereo headset for any modern smartphones, tablets and computers. You can change hearing programs, volume, and even adjust tinnitus settings. Opn is the world’s first Internet-connected hearing aids. Users can connect the hearing aids to IFTTT Services, such as doorbells, GPS systems, etc., making everyday life easier!
